This question is best answered after your free initial consultation, but generally speaking, grey, white, or red hair does not absorb the laser energy enough to react.
Commonly treated areas:
Any area on the body can essentially be treated, but common treatment areas include:
Lip
Chin
Cheeks
Legs
Back
Neck (front or back)
Chest
Bikini Area
Brazilian
Pre-Treatment Prep:
To more effectively target the chromophore (melanin) and eliminate the hair follicle permanently, do not tweeze or wax the areas you wish to be treated. Ideally, its best to leave a few days of hair growth to better identify the hair follicle.
PRP for Hair Loss
While alopecia can occur for several reasons, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy can be used to treat this condition in both men and women, and it can be used in conjunction with other therapies.
Treating hair loss in men with PRP
In men, male pattern baldness can rear its head as early as the age of 19 years old, while some men may not notice hair loss until their 40’s or 50’s. Often, men experience hair loss due to genetic factors or because they have higher levels of dihydrotestosterone, which is a form of testosterone that kills hair follicles. Alopecia may start with a receding hairline, or spots of hair may start to go missing. Some of the other reasons that alopecia can occur in men include:
Aging
Testosterone imbalances
Medications
Overexertion
Genetic factors
Despite the reason for hair loss, using Platelet Rich Plasma can stimulate hair regrowth, or it can slow down the rate of hair loss. This therapy works by injecting stem cells from the patient’s blood into the scalp to stimulate the healing of tissues, such as hair follicles. When hair follicles are restored, men may experience the regrowth of their hair. A specialist can guide men through the process of hair restoration with Platelet Rich Plasma or a combination of PRP and other therapies.
PRP for female hair loss
Many women also commonly suffer from alopecia, and in women, hair starts getting thinner at around the age of 35, which is close to the age of perimenopause. In women, as hormones begin to decline, hair may become drier, leading to hair loss. Other women may notice hair loss after pregnancy, as their hormones are rebounding and restructuring back to normal levels. Some of the reasons that alopecia can occur in women include:
Stress
Hormonal decline
Childbirth
Hypothyroid
Medications
While hair loss can be difficult for men to experience, women maybe even more devastated when their luscious locks of hair begin to thin out. Luckily, Platelet Rich Plasma can promote hair growth and restore hair thickness. A hair restoration specialist will use components of the patient’s platelets, which are amplified with growth factors, and insert them in the areas of the scalp that are thinning out or all over the scalp. Many women have been able to eliminate balding spots or stimulate the growth of an overall fuller head of hair with Platelet Rich Plasma therapy.
Getting started with Platelet Rich Plasma
Even though this cutting- edge PRP treatment is new, Platelet Rich Plasma, which involves the use of stem cells, has been used for many years to regenerate and heal tissue in the joints and spine. Now, physicians are using the benefits of stem cells and Platelet Rich Plasma to help women and men enhance their aesthetic appearances.
Before getting started with a Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, Dr. Vincent Nacouzi at Injectables by Dr. V will perform a full medical intake and discuss the patient’s medical history, lifestyle habits, and treatment goals. Then, he and the patient will design a treatment plan that includes the use of Platelet Rich Plasma, and potentially other therapies, to help patients achieve their goals. 3-6 treatments are often required especially with more difficult cases. Countless men and women have been able to enjoy thicker, more evenly distributed hair with the help of Platelet Rich Plasma for alopecia
Joint Pain
What is it?
PRP therapy (Platelet Rich Plasma therapy), also known as Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) therapy, takes advantage of the blood’s natural healing properties to repair damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles, or even bone. The main aim of this treatment is to reduce pain, improve joint function, and potentially slow, halt, or even repair damage to cartilage. It is well used in medicine and helps patients regain activity by effectively reducing pain and improving mobility. This simple outpatient treatment may help you recover from a painful sports injury or chronic pain caused by osteoarthritis or tendinopathy.
How does it work?
The healing of injured or inflamed tissue involves a complex and precisely regulated series of natural processes within the body. Thrombocytes (platelets) play an important role in this process. At the site of injury, they release growth factors that initiate the restoration of injured tissue and inhibit painful inflammatory processes. PRP treatment is based on our understanding of these complex processes. With its high concentration of growth factors, PRP injections are a natural way of supporting the body’s self-healing processes.
PDO Thread Butt, Breast, and Arm Lift
Underlying collagen is recreated in a healing response to placing the threads, acting as a scaffolding to delicately lift the tissues and reposition the skin. Threads are reabsorbed by your body in 4 to 6 months, leaving only the new skin structure, which holds indefinitely.
What parts of my body can benefit from PDO Threads?
The obvious use for a PDO Thread Lift is in the face: The “lunch-hour lift” that includes reducing folds, lines, and sags in the face, jawline, and neck. If you have sagging or loose skin after losing weight or simply as you age, any part of your body can benefit from a PDO Thread Lift. For instance, it will tighten skin near your knees, or counteract the effects of gravity on your breasts and buttocks.
Other common areas that many elect to have a PDO Thread Lift are butts, breasts, and upper arms, as these are areas that can be more common to have looser or sagging skin.
